The 1st International Ceramic Research Colloquium was held inside one of MSU-IIT’s advance facility, PRISM, where advance research and studies in the field of science and mathematics are made. Access to the facility is strictly controlled and monitored.

Organizing Committee

The entire 2-day event was initiated by the Technology Application and Promotion Unit (TAPU), of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE), in coordination with the Department of Ceramic, Metallurgical, and Mining Engineering of the College of Engineering and Technology (COET). Nonetheless, the event was headed Dr. Ryan D. Corpuz (Chairman, the 1st Ceramic Research Colloquium) in partnership with he student body’s Ceramic Engineering Society (CERES).

Journal of the First Ceramic Research Colloquium

The first publication of the event presented the launching of the Journal of Ceramic Engineering Society (JCERES) and the presentation of the various speakers from the academe and industrial sector. A copy was obtained and will be given to MSCI c/o CHR. Furthermore, as part of our partnership with MSU-IIT in terms of sourcing competitive Ceramic Engineering graduates, the organizing body has included MARIWASA in the journal for promotional purposes.

Speakers for the Academe Track

The line of speakers included a wide range of academicians and researches holding a Master’s degree and Doctorate degree. Topics included advance batteries, advances in starch consolidation, fly-ash modifications for mine tailings, raw material prospecting, lightweight concrete, nano-silicates and fire retardants. After the presentation, the speakers were then awarded with certificates of recognition for their invaluable contribution to science and education. The Q&A portion then followed after completion of the academe track.
